Magnetic transition in the $J_\textrm{eff} = 1/2$ Kagom\'{e} system Sm$_3$Sb$_3$Zn$_2$O$_{14}$

Abstract

We present a study of Sm3_3Sb3_3Zn2_2O14_{14} (SSZO) through magnetization and specific heat capacity Cp(T)C_p(T) measurements. SSZO contains well separated planes of Sm3+^{3+} magnetic ions on a Kagom\'{e} lattice. Though our magnetic susceptibility (where the data are limited down to 2\,K) does not show any anomaly, the Cp(T)C_p(T) data which have been taken down to 0.35 K reveal a broad maximum at T1.5T\sim1.5\,K followed by a sharp peak at T0.5T\sim0.5\,K indicative of short-range correlations and long-range order, respectively.
