Magnetic Response in Mesoscopic Rings and Moebius Strips: A Theoretical Study

Mesoscale and Nanoscale Physics 2010-01-05 v1 Materials Science

Abstract

We investigate magnetic response in mesoscopic rings and moebius strips penetrated by magnetic flux ϕ\phi. Based on a simple tight-binding framework all the calculations are performed numerically which describe persistent current and low-field magnetic susceptibility as functions of magnetic flux ϕ\phi, total number of electrons NeN_e, system size NN and disorder strength WW. Our exact analysis may provide some important signatures to study magnetic response in nano-scale loop geometries.
