M\"obius Disjointness for Nilsequences Along Short Intervals

Abstract

For a nilmanifold G/ΓG/\Gamma, a 11-Lipschitz continuous function FF and the M\"obius sequence μ(n)\mu(n), we prove a bound on the decay of the averaged short interval correlation 1HNnNhHμ(n+h)F(gn+hx)\frac1{HN}\sum_{n\leq N}\Big|\sum_{h\leq H} \mu(n+h)F(g^{n+h}x)\Big| as H,NH,N\to\infty. The bound is uniform in gGg\in G, xG/Γx\in G/\Gamma and FF.
