Low-mass dielectron measurement in pp and Pb--Pb collisions in ALICE

High Energy Physics - Experiment 2019-08-13 v1 Nuclear Experiment

Abstract

We report on the first dielectron measurement in pp collisons at s=7\sqrt{s} = 7 TeV with the ALICE detector system. The results are compared to the expected hadronic sources. The hadronic cocktail agrees to the measured dielectron continuum within statistical and systematic uncertainties. The status of the dielectron measurement in Pb--Pb collisions at {sNN=2.76\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76} TeV is addressed.
