Abstract

For numbers xx coprime to 1010 there exist infinitely many binary numbers bb such that the greatest common divisor of bb and rev(bb) = xx and the sum of digits of b=xb = x (rev(bb) is the digit reversal of bb). In most cases, the smallest bb that fulfill these two constraints contain just a few zeros. But in some cases like for x=7,11,13x = 7, 11, 13 and 3737, bb must contain more zeros than ones and these bb are called long solutions. For 1111 and 3737 it follows directly from the fact that these are porous numbers. For 77 and 1313, the proofs that they have long solutions are presented in this paper.
