Lie Derivations of a Matrix Ring over an Associative Ring

Abstract

Let KK be a 2-torsion free ring with identity. We give a description of the Lie derivations of R=Rn(K,J)=NTn(K)+Mn(J)R=R_{n}(K,J)=NT_{n}(K)+M_{n}(J), the ring of all n×nn\times n matrices over KK such that the entries on and above the main diagonal are elements of an ideal JJ of KK.
