$J^+$-like Invariants under Bifurcations

Symplectic Geometry 2022-10-07 v1 Differential Geometry

Abstract

We explore how the invariants J+J^+, JJ^-, J1\mathcal{J}_1 and J2\mathcal{J}_2 of immersions -- generic (at most double points and only transverse intersections) planar smooth closed curves with non-vanishing derivative -- change under kk-bifurcations (k2Nk \ge 2 \in \mathbb{N}), which are constructed by running kk times through an immersion and then perturbing it to be generic.
