Interplay between polarized DIS and RHIC spin physics

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology 2008-02-03 v2

Abstract

The complementarity of polarized DIS experiments and polarized Proton-Proton experiments is illustrated for two examples. It is shown how the twist-3 part of the second moment of g2(x,Q2)g_2(x,Q^2) and the single-spin photon asymmetry are connected and it is discussed how the polarized gluon distribution can be obtained from the measurement of direct gamma asymmetries.
