Abstract
The novel inelastic collision properties of two-soliton interaction for an -component coupled higher order nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation are studied. Some interesting features of three soliton interactions, related to the integrability of the -component coupled higher order nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation are also discussed.
