Idempotents of $\mathbb{Z}_n$

Abstract

We know that if there are kk distinct prime factors of nNn \in \mathbb{N}, then the ring Zn\mathbb{Z}_n of integers modulo nn has exactly 2k2^k idempotent elements. In this article, we try to describe all the idempotents of Zn\mathbb{Z}_n for any given nNn \in \mathbb{N}.
