HR-length of a free group via polynomial functors

Abstract

We prove that for a subring RQR\subseteq \mathbb Q and a free group FF of rank at least 22 the length of the Bousfield's HRHR-localization tower for FF is at least ω+ω\omega+\omega. The key ingredient of the proof is the theory of polynomial functors over Q.\mathbb Q.
