Abstract
We study the generation of vector meson masses in the Hidden Local Symmetry (HLS) model of low energy QCD. After demoting the HLS to a hidden global symmetry (HGS), the rho is explicitly shown to be massless for any value of the HS parameter "a" and the chiral partner of the pion appears as the Goldstone boson associated with the spontaneous breaking of the HGS, closely resembling the predictions of Georgi's vector limit.
