Generalised Orbifolds and G-equivariantisation

Abstract

In a construction motivated by topological field theory, a so-called orbifold datum A\mathbb{A} in a ribbon category CC allows one to define a new ribbon category CAC_{\mathbb{A}}. If CC is the neutral component of a GG-crossed ribbon category BB, and A\mathbb{A} is an orbifold datum in CC defined in terms of BB, one finds that CAC_{\mathbb{A}} is equivalent to the equivariantisation BGB^G of BB as a ribbon category. We give a constructive proof of this equivalence.
