Abstract
Our Galaxy contains some 10^8 to 10^9 collapsed objects (neutron stars and black holes). Our knowledge of them is based on less than 2000 objects identified as radio pulsars, members of X-ray binaries and magnetars. In this review I shall briefly discuss some of their properties such as masses, magnetic fields and rotation.
