Embeddings of fields in simple algebras over global fields

Abstract

Let FF be a global field, AA a central simple algebra over FF and KK a finite (separable or not) field extension of FF with degree [K:F][K:F] dividing the degree of AA over FF. An embedding of KK in AA over FF exists implies an embedding exists locally everywhere. In this paper we give detailed discussions when the converse (i.e. the local-global principle in question) may hold.
