Effective Field Theories

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology 2007-05-23 v1

Abstract

These lectures introduce some of the basic notions of effective field theories, as used in particle physics. The topics discussed are the ΔS=1\Delta S=1 and ΔS=2\Delta S =2 weak interactions, and chiral perturbation theory as applied to mesons, baryons, and hadrons containing heavy quarks.
