Density of linearity index in the interval of matching numbers

Abstract

Given integers 2pcq2 \leq p \leq c \leq q, we construct a finite simple graph GG with ν1(G)=p\nu_1(G) = p and ν(G)=q\nu(G) = q for which the squarefree power I(G)[k]I(G)^{[k]} of the edge ideal I(G)I(G) of GG has linear quotients for each ckqc \leq k \leq q and is not linearly related for each 1k<c1 \leq k < c, where ν1(G)\nu_1(G) is the induced matching number of GG and ν(G)\nu(G) is the matching number of GG.
