Conjugate Pairs of Subfactors and Entropy for Automorphisms

Abstract

Based on the fact that, for a subfactor NN of a II1_1 factor M,M, the first non-trivial Jones index is 2 and then MM is decomposed as the crossed product of NN by an outer action of Z2,{\mathbb{Z}}_2, we study pairs {N,uNu} \{N, uNu^* \} from a view point of entropy for two subalgebras of MM with a connection to the entropy for automorphisms, where the inclusion of II1_1 factors NM N \subset M is given as MM is the crossed product of NN by a finite group of outer automorphisms and uu is a unitary in M.M.
