Condensed state of heavy vectorlike neutrinos

High Energy Physics - Phenomenology 2015-09-02 v2

Abstract

Some extensions of the Standard Model suggest existence of vectorlike fermions whose mass MM can be by up to several orders of magnitude larger than the electroweak scale vv, and with the Higgs mechanism providing only a small part mm of this mass that is a fraction of vv. It is shown that in a certain range of the parameters mm and MM there exist stable globules of degenerate fermionic matter made from the lighter of the neutral vectorlike leptons (superheavy neutrinos) with a number density much larger than mhv2m_h \, v^2, with mhm_h being the Higgs boson mass. The stability is due to the deformation of the Higgs field inside the globule to values greatly exceeding vv. The globules are absolutely stable if the lighter of the vectorlike neutrinos is stable and can be (a part of) the dark matter.
