Cofiniteness of local cohomology modules and subcategories of modules

Abstract

Let RR be a commutative noetherian ring and II an ideal of RR. Assume that for all integers ii the local cohomology module HIi(R)H_I^i(R) is II-cofinite. Suppose that RpR_\mathfrak{p} is a regular local ring for all prime ideals p\mathfrak{p} that do not contain II. In this paper, we prove that if the II-cofinite modules forms an abelian category, then for all finitely generated RR-modules MM and all integers ii, the local cohomology module HIi(M)H_I^i(M) is II-cofinite.
