CMB Anisotropy in COBE-DMR-Normalized Open CDM Cosmogony

Abstract

We compute the CMB anisotropy in an open inflation CDM model which is normalized to the two-year DMR sky map. Presently available CMB data is consistent with Ω00.30.4\Omega_0 \sim 0.3 - 0.4, but does not strongly disfavour either Ω00.1\Omega_0 \sim 0.1 or Ω01\Omega_0 \sim 1. Accumulating CMB data should strengthen the observational discriminative power, however, a better understanding of systematic effects will be needed before it will be possible to draw robust conclusions about model viability.
