Baryons in the Large N Limit

Abstract

The properties of baryons can be computed in a systematic expansion in 1/Nc1/N_c, where NcN_c is the number of colors. Recent results on the axial couplings and masses of baryons (for the case of three flavors) are presented. The results give insight into the structure of flavor SU(3)SU(3) breaking for baryons. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talks presented at the Symposium on Internal Spin Structure of the Nucleon (Yale University, Jan 94) and at the Workshop on Continuous Advances in QCD (Theoretical Physics Institute, University of Minnesota, Feb 94).
