Axial heterotwins

Materials Science 2021-08-17 v2

Abstract

The current theory of twin crystallography is based on the concept of invariant plane. The present paper extends the theory to encompass the cases of heterotwins in which the composition plane is only quasi-invariant.

Comments

There is a error in the experimental EBSD map of albite due to pseudosymmetry. The two parts A and B are actually linked by a 180{\deg} rotation around b-axis. The theory remains valid to my point of view, but the EBSD map of albite cannot be used as an "experimental proof". I would like to apologize to the readers of the first versions deposited on Arxiv
