Approximately inner flows

Abstract

When α\alpha is an approximately inner flow on a C^*-algebra AA and commutes with an automorphism γ\gamma of AA we may extend α\alpha to a flow αˉ\bar{\alpha} on the crossed product A×γZA\times_\gamma Z by setting αˉt(U)=U\bar{\alpha}_t(U)=U where UU is the canonical unitary implementing γ\gamma in A×γZA\times_\gamma Z and ask whether αˉ\bar{\alpha} is also approximately inner or not. We will consider very specific examples of this type; some of which we can answer affirmatively.
