Abstract

Isospin breaking correction to the ΔI=1/2\Delta I = {1/2} decay of KππK\to\pi\pi generates a large enough contribution to ϵ\epsilon' through an induced ΔI=3/2\Delta I = {3/2} amplitude in KLK_L decay. Aside from the π\pi-η\eta and π\pi-η\eta' mixing contributions, there is a correction of kinematical origin due to the final-state π±\pi^{\pm}-π0\pi^0 mass difference, which is unambiguously calculable from the low-energy off-shell behavior of the KππK\to\pi\pi amplitude. This correction to ϵ\epsilon' reduces the isospin breaking parameter ΩIB\Omega_{IB} by 0.06, which is nearly one half of the π\pi-η\eta mixing effect computed with chiral Lagrangians to O(p2)O(p^2).
