A counterexample to Tian's Stabilization Conjecture

Algebraic Geometry 2024-12-04 v1 Differential Geometry

Abstract

It was conjectured by Tian that the global log canonical threshold (known as the α\alpha-invariant) is equal to the level kk log canonical threshold (known as the αk\alpha_k-invariant) for all sufficiently large kk. A weaker folklore conjecture has been that the invariants αk\alpha_k are eventually monotone. We provide a counterexample to both conjectures.
