Abstract

We survey some topics in ${\mathbb A}^1$ -homotopy theory. Our main goal is to highlight the interplay between ${\mathbb A}^1$ -homotopy theory and affine algebraic geometry, focusing on the varieties that are "contractible" from various standpoints.
